Rare-earth permanent magnets: move from scheme launch to selection watch

Bids received · selection and downstream watch

Value basis₹7,280 crore · programme outlay
GeographyIndia

Source-supported facts

The REPM programme carries an announced outlay of ₹7,280 crore and a manufacturing-capacity objective of 6,000 tonnes per year.

A government update on 13 August 2026 reports receipt of 20 bids. It should therefore not be advertised as a fresh open application call.

TLGS assessment

Follow award/selection decisions and subsequent plant, utility and equipment announcements. A scheme incentive outlay must not be relabelled as the value of an individual construction contract.

Practical next steps

  • Track official selection results and beneficiary-level project announcements.
  • Create project entries only when a specific implementation or procurement scope is documented.

Status & scope

The scheme outlay is not a tender value and is excluded from project-bid totals. Downstream opportunities are a prospective business assessment, not confirmed invitations.
