EFTA–India TEPA: an investment and technology-partnership lens
In force · investment objectives not guarantees
Source-supported facts
EFTA records TEPA entering into force on 1 October 2025. The participating EFTA states are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Its investment-mobilisation objectives are long-term goals, not automatic funding entitlements.
TLGS assessment
Indian businesses can frame partnership propositions around technology, manufacturing, services and bankable investment projects. A specific project still needs counterparty diligence, commercial terms and applicable sector approvals.
Practical next steps
- Identify the relevant treaty chapter and product/service schedule.
- Prepare an investment proposition and independently verify prospective counterparties.
Status & scope
The agreement is not newly effective in September 2026, and no business is promised a share of an investment target.
