Maharashtra licensing: verify the application channel before a multi-location rollout

Current Maharashtra FDA portal guidance makes application-channel verification an important first step for new manufacturing and sales users.

MaharashtraOfficial portal guidance · reviewed 13 September 2026

What the official source says

Maharashtra FDA’s homepage directs all new manufacturing and sales users to create credentials and apply for relevant services through Aaple Sarkar, referring to directives of the Secretary, MEDD. The same website separately carries a notice that the XLNIndia application has been migrated and is operational. [1]

These notices should be read according to their respective scope. They do not, by themselves, establish that every legacy application or renewal has moved to the same channel. The webpage does not display an issue date for the application-channel direction. [1]

TLGS perspective

A national rollout can lose time when teams reuse an earlier portal link without checking the current route for the actual service. Retail sales, manufacturing, amendments and pending applications should therefore be mapped as distinct filing tasks rather than assumed to follow an identical journey.

TLGS recommends keeping a service-level filing register that identifies the current official channel, the applicant-controlled account, supporting documents, acknowledgement and next action. Credentials should remain under the applicant’s control; coordination should not depend on a departing individual’s personal account.

Operational review points

  • Confirm the correct portal for each application type.
  • Record the official acknowledgement and the responsible applicant-side owner.
  • Check how pending and legacy applications are to be handled before opening a duplicate application.
