01The MPC increased the policy repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% and adopted calibrated tightening.
02A business’s interest expense depends on its benchmark, spread, reset dates and fixed or floating structure.
03Bid and investment approval should use a documented sensitivity range, including the effect of delayed receipts or commissioning.

Commercial and operating implications.
Map the exposure before adjusting the model
Identify each facility’s benchmark, contractual reset, spread, maturity and any hedging arrangement. Distinguish committed from undrawn facilities and fixed from floating obligations. A policy announcement is relevant to the funding environment, but the company’s documents determine the timing and amount of an actual cash-flow effect.
Revisit bids and capital commitments
Test debt service, construction-period interest, working capital and the cost of receivables under the revised assumptions. Assess whether a delayed completion or collection period compounds the financing exposure. The investment committee should see the sensitivity of returns and coverage, not merely a revised headline discount rate.
Keep treasury responses proportionate
Compare funding alternatives, maturity concentration and available liquidity with their transaction costs and risks. Reconcile any financing response with lender covenants and the project’s operating needs. The objective is a defensible capital plan, not a prediction that rates will move in a particular direction or an assumption that refinancing will always be available.
